The Ethernet Global Data (EGD) feature of RELIANCE 57045 is available in RX3i firmware version 8.302 and above, and supports CPE310 and CPE305 CPUs. This means that before these firmware versions were released, the EGD function could only be implemented through the Ethernet interface module (ETM001) of RX3i. Starting from RX3i firmware version 8.603, CPE330 also supports EGD Class 1. This feature can be used on all firmware versions of RX3i CPE400 and RSTi EP CPE100.
Each PACSystems CPU supports a maximum of 255 simultaneous EGD pages, distributed across all Ethernet interfaces in the controller. The EGD page must be configured and stored in the CPU through programming software, and can also be loaded from the CPU into programming software for configuration. The configuration includes both the production page and the consumption page.
PACSystems CPU supports partially consumed EGD pages and allows EGD pages to be generated and consumed on the broadcast IP address of the local subnet. In addition, PACSystems CPU supports 2 milliseconds of EGD page generation and timeout resolution. The EGD page can be configured with a production cycle of 0, which means that the page will be produced at each output scan, known as the “fastest possible” page, with a minimum cycle of 2 milliseconds.
